How do I go about dyeing my hair blue?

I really like blue. I've tried dyeing it that way twice before. The first time, I just used blue dye (my hair is overall light brown but ranges blonde to dark brown) and it just ended up looking brown with a blue tinge. So the second time I bleached my hair blonde (almost got it in my eye) then dyed it blue, but it looked pretty horrible till I was able to get the blue dye again.

So I'm back to college in 2 weeks and don't need to worry about employers. Is it worth looking into having it done at a hairdresser? Just the bleaching or would they even carry blue dye? Any other suggestions?

I'm a stylist and I would have you buy blue dye, like Manic Panic, and bring it in. I would bleach your hair out for you, then apply the blue.

Manic panic is crap. Ive never met a colourful hair dye that I liked. All of them wash out or bleed. You definitely need to bleach first.

I dont think it's necessary to go to a hairdresser though. You could do it on your own and have it look decent if you're careful and keep it maintained well.

Good luck!

All I can say is go with what you want. At the risk of sounding like some wise person in a movie, life's too short, you got to live it and live it hard! If YOU want blue hair go for it. Really, I'm not joking, do it now, go to a hairdresser and get it done if you can. Dont ever hold back!

You should deffinatly gwt it done at a hairdressers. They know what they are doing and the won't get it in your eyes.

If you bleach the hair out and then use dark ash blonde dye on the white hair, it will suck up the blue pigment in the ash dye and hey presto! Somebody did that to mine by accident and it was definately blue and a very interesting shade
