Why are older womens hair blue?

I think it started long ago in beauty shops that would give a final rinse to the customers with a product for white hair that had some sort of bluing in it. Bluing was used to brighten white hair (and white laundry too!), but would actually give it a blue hue. Why someone hasn't improved the product is beyond me.... but then again, maybe little old ladies with blue hair are rebels, and making some kind of social statement (kind of like an orange mohawk) that only senior citizens know about?

o yeah my 5th grade teacher's was too! I dunno, maybe an "old trend"? I guess they think its cool

Why are older womens hair blue?

Many older women(in my area at least) go to the salon for a perm and wash once a week. Well some of them get a blue rinse in their hair(theres an actual blue hair rinse product out there).

Why? Im not sure...maybe to cut out some of the gray???

What a good question..

Why are older womens hair blue?

It used to be stylish to put a slightly bluish tint/rinse on gray hair, but I haven't noticed it much in recent years.

Why are older womens hair blue?

because they use this product that prevents yellow stains which is purple-blue, my mom uses it too cuz she dyes her hair platinum blond, and cuz older women have gray or white hair, the purple or blue in the product is more prominent (it is blue to do the optical effect of combining with the yellow and appear white)
