I have black/blue hair.... HELP.?

I had light brown hair and I wanted to dye it dark brown. I got black thinkning if it I didn't leave it in for the full amount of time it would turn out as desired. It ended up being blackish blue. I want my natural hair color back. The black dye was permanent though. Any advice?

Thanks

If You Can Wait For It to Grow-Out And Fade,(It Will, In Time) This Is The Best Course. if Not, I Would Suggest A Trip To The Local Salon. Undoing A Bad Dye Job(ESPECIALLY A DARK ONE) Is Very Tricky, Even Professional Colorists Don't Like Doing Them - And Don't Expect It To Be Easy Or Cheap. Even If You Tackle It Yourself At Home. (Not Recommended) The Cost Of The Remover Chemicals Alone Is Quite Pricey. Not To Mention The Cost Of Recoloring (You WILL Have To Do This) And Reconditioning And Color Touch-Ups (You WILL have To Do These TOO) And, IF YOU MESS-UP THE REMOVER OR RECOLORING- OH BROTHER!! Good-Luck!

Never get black hair dye thinking it would come out dark brown. It wont. The reason why its blueish is because it was a very dark shade of black you got. The best thing to do is go to a hair salon and have them strip out the color and re-dye it again.

Go to a professional and they can take you back to your hair color in a few sessions, When you use permanent black your S.O.L in getting it back in one shot.

I think that you should see a color specialist to help you get your natural color or close to it back. But if you cant afford to see one, go back to where you got the color.and choose a color close to your original shade.

Get an over the counter hair color remover (like Clairol) (from Walgreens, etc.). It will take the black color out of your hair, but it will also remove some of your natural hair color. The hair color remover is easy to use and does not cause much damage to your hair. However, you will need to be prepared to immediately dye back over it with the color you want.

All you can do is have dye removal done or bleached. Bleaching would do more damage though. I would recommend color removal. It takes a long time though, expecially for black dye, I'd say several hours. It costs about $40.00 a box with added price for however they charge for time.

Go to a beauty supply store and request something called a malibu treatment. These usually comes in a little packet filled with a powder substance. Put it in a glass bowl and slowly add water and stir with a plastic spoon. The treatment should eventually be the consistency of cake batter. Rub it in your hair and put a shower cap on your head. Sit in the warm sun or wrap your capped head in a hot towel. Leave the treatment on for 20 - 25 minutes and then rinse out and shampoo your hair. Use a good moisturizing conditioner or leave-in treatment. We use the malibu treatment in the salon to tone down color as an alternative to damaging the hair with bleach or peroxide, which may be your only other option. Given enough time the color should fade a little on its own, but the malibu treatment should speed up the process.

I have black/blue hair.... HELP.?

I did almost the exact same thing. So listen! There are 3 choices

1. Take the long prosses and let it grow out

2. Bleach small sections of your hair

3. Bleach your whole head

I advise you NOT to bleach your head, your hair will be so dry that it will fall out. But if you bleach small parts of it do it every so often because its hard on your hair[i did that and the top layer of my hair is very very dry] Also to make the prosess seem shorter cut your hair about shoulder to above shoulder length. Especailly if you bleach your hair. If you do bleach look at your hair and watch for slpit ends.

Hope that Helped :]
