Black hair dye is the hardest to come out. I'm not sure about the blue shine but once you dye your hair black you have to wait until to grows completely out before you can do anything with it. I think they put the strongest ingredients in black hair dye so be careful.

If you do go through with it make sure you don't drop any on your skin cause it won't come out. Put baby oil around your ear and forehead so the dye won't stain your skin. Make sure you wipe it off immediately.

DO NOT USE FERIA.

You won't get a blue shine, and once you dye your hair with Feria, you WON'T get it out. It won't bleach out past an ugly copper orange, and a color stripper won't lift it any further than a red orange.

I've used it, I've tried to remove it. It doesn't work.

I hate to color people's hair after they use box dyes, and Feria is a BAD one if you ever want your hair another color. Box dyes aren't very compatible with professional dyes.

Weird - I posted this last night, and I had a client who used this exact product and color. The ends (last 2 inches) wouldn't bleach out...only that within 3 inches of her scalp, so to get the bright red she wanted, I had to cut the ends off and give her a long layered pixie cut.

Naturally, I have hair slightly darker than what is known as "dirty blond". Upon using both feria red base and blue base, I find that each gives you highlights! The blue-black gives you a nice gun-metal shine, but in a month or so (and perhaps a little sun) you will have muted blue highlights! So, if this effect is what you want - go for it. I go with the red base...
