No..to have a true blue color you would first have to bleach your hair then add the blue toner.

I know what you mean about the blu/black thing...my daughter just had it done and it looks awesome, but it doesn't look blue except in certain light. It almost looks like an eggplant color. I refused to let her get it bleached first so she had it professionally done with the blue dye over her black hair.

Uh, why?

uh ? not sure. try a temporary dye first.

U know what? I have some really cool hair gel and it is cobalt blue. The best thing about it is it washes off with shampoo. U should look into that...less problematic if you mess up...and it looks cool. But that way u can look one way one day and abnother the next.

You will get the best results if you lighten your hair first. Blue over black either doesn't show or looks (like you said) totally fake. You may want to have a professional do at least the lightening part; if you do it wrong, your hair may become damaged or porous and "grab" the dye wrong. That means some parts absorb more of the dye than others and your hair will either look really, really cool (like velvet) or totally stupid (like an easter egg).

i dont think so i think you would have to use a special dye for black/dark hair... umm hope this helps

Go to a Sally's, not Hot Topic, because they carry better stuff and there is a color that is blue black. I'll be using it when I turn into Veronica (from the Archie Comics) Halloween.

Since ur natural hair tone is jet black,u might wanna bleach it 1st then use a lighter blue dye so that it would reflect on ur hair strands perfectly.

i would definitly lighten it up first so the blue actually shows up....if you go to a good salon you can get both the lightening and the acutally dying with the blue done together (same day)
