Blue highlights in dark brown hair?

I want to get dark blue highlights in my hair. My hair is dark brown so im not sure if the highlights will be easily seen. What should i do? and has anyone got blue highlights before?

You would need to bleach whatever you want blue then add a vegetable based dye for the color.

It would most likely look real nice if done correctly, not like Clementine in Eternal Sunshine!

I've seen it in others done correctly and it looks very nice.

I suggest Special Effects dye because it lasts longer.

you could have tha hair bleached then a dark blue black put over top.

Make sure you have it done professionally, DIY hair can go horribly wrong!

i got pink highlights in my hair before. you need to bleach the parts you want blue first and it makes you hair really dry and it breaks

ok here it is my friend has dark brown hair and she did it a while back...it turned out GREY!!! but then agian she didnt get the good dye...so heres my advice if you do get them..make sure you get good dye or get it done at a salon! and ask your self do you really want to commit to that...you have to get them done every 2 months and if you dont then they will loook really really really bad! my other friend got pink and they turn orange(not cool orange like tacky) and it looks bad! so make sure its something you really want to do!! hope i helped!

thats interesting....u'd have to get the sections bleached and dyed a shade of blue that u want...i guess that would depend on how noticable u want it to be.....a navy or dark blue for like a subtle effect or u can go lighter if u really want it to pop!

They will look pretty cool, just make sure you go to a professional so they look amazing and they last longer, don't use the "cheap do it yourself" crap. That only ruins your hair and fades away in a week or so, then you look gettho and trashy.

My 14 year old daughter has blue hair (crazy kid) and looks great! It was a little expensive to get it done but worth every penny.

The best part of it is the look on the faces of the people at church when she sings with the choir HA HA HA
