Blue hair quiestions.?

I have been thinking about dying my hair a dark blue, but I only want to try it out and have it go back to normal after the course has run through.

This is my first time so I will obviously go to a professional to get it done.

I would rather not beach my hair before hand because I've heard I wouldn't be able to get my natural color back.

What brand of dye should I use?

Will it smear onto other things? Clothes? Pillow case?

How long will it last?

How long will it take to dye?

This and any other information would very helpful

Well first off if you don't bleach it first it might not come out as prominent as you would like{your natural color will come back but after your hair grows out, also you don't necissarily have to bleach it really blond just lighter like a light brown} But since you only want it for a little bit maybe no bleach is better. In that case you should use a semi-permanent color{that will last up to or around 6 weeks, if you use temporary color it will come out after a wash or two.} If you go to a salon they will use whatever brand they have{the salon I worked in the brand was called socolor and they had an awesome blueish-black color! But that was a permanent color I believe.} Often the color might run off onto things but after you wash it after a time or two it shouldn't happen as much When you take a bath or shower after the water hits your head don't be surprised if the water turns blue, that's all the excess color that may rub off. Don't worry it won't ruin your color. You will probably be at the salon for around 2 hours if not less depending on what you are actually getting done. But I would say even though all over color would look nice, highlights would definetely look hot! Not only that but if you did decide to lighten your hair first once the semi-permanent color goes away you can always use a different color since your hair is still light. I had a kid in my class when I was in school that did that and it looked really cool. He had different color hair every month but his hair was short not long. Well I hope I helped email me if you have any further questions. And I hope your hair comes out the way you want it. Good Luck!

all in all, most salons ive worked at dont carry a good shade of blue color. they use very dark brown and add blue kicker to it. (its complicated, dude) at best, you migh come out with black with a shimmer of blue to it. your best bet for blue hair is Manic Panic. thats the company name. available at hot topic n other gothy joints. it will be very permanent, and rinsed well (For like 20 mins) it wont bleed onto you clothes later. it will, however, stain anything it contacts whilst you are slapping it on your own head, so recruit some help from a chick (they're usually less sloppy than us dudes) pre bleaching your hair will not be nessessary. it's classified as a henna dye, so it's gonna be hard to go back to your natural color later, but yer a dude, so you you can just let it grow out for a month and cut it all off if it's that importaint. (does that help? )
